Image anti-sawtooth: if primitive image size and screen size differ too much, then demonstrated time needs the image enlargement. Due to the enlargement effect provided in different video cards, some sawtooth phenomena can be very obvious. When this item is checked, Cool DVD Player can determine whether to use the software anti-sawtooth algorithms to eliminate or to reduce the sawtooth phenomenon according to the image and the screen size. If the current clip does not need the anti-sawtooth, this item is disabled.

Standard video flows consist of movement image sequences.Sequence basic unit if frame or field.One frame consist of two fields.Between each field there exists time difference.In display device that only supports scanning line-by-line,strong virtual images of movement generate during playback of frames.So the fields should turn to frames before playback.Cool DVD Player has adopted many kinds of effective technology that is deinterfacing technology.

Multiple fields space forecast automatical adaption

A kind of extremely complex deinterlacing technology,system resource cost too much.Not available in current version of Cool DVD Player.

Technology abstract:


The basic encoding unit of frame or field is macro block.Deinterlacing technology takes macro block as unit,processing after decoding the macro block.

1:  Movement detection.First determine two fields in close time, refer to macro blocks in close position,computate the movement vector of horizontal and vertical directions.If the vector equals to zero,directly merge the macro blocks. If movement vector is non-zero,computate the movement differences of two macro blocks of the two fields.If the difference is small, merge them directly.

2: If the difference is big in the neighboring two fields,search the best compensate effect image movement block in the circumambience of down field macro block movement vector. If exist suitable data,then merge the up-half field with the down-half filed having been repaired.

3: If the movement block matched is not found,then carry on compenstates to macro block neighboring and similar to up-half field macro block, at grads direction of the up-down fileds macro blocks movement vector

4: If not exist this kind of movement block,computate the energy distributions of macro block and do the double line stretch at the best energy grads direction to substitute the down-half field data.

LPCM:    The sampling frequency and the data density of linear PCM code are all fixed.The bit rate is also stable while reading from the storage. This encoding method waw once extremely successful, for example popular CD music. But linear PCM is not the most superior digital music encoding method.First linear PCM cannot perfectly manifest the signal characteristic of music, second it's not accord with humanity's sense of hearing system.However the biggest insufficiency is that this kind of encoding method generates a mass of data, which cannot be loaded in common medium stuff because of the limit of capability.Several kinds of typical applications are:

CD-audio 44.1 kHz 16 bits 705.6 bit/s Digital audio tape (DAT) , 48.0 kHz , 16 bits, 768.0 bit/s DVD-audio (example),  96.0 kHz,  24 bits , 2304.0 bit/s LPCM audio adopted by DVD movie can also be 48.0 kHz,  16bits , 

AC3:     The most common DVD movie audio format,using DCT transformation,is the representative of harmful compression.This encoding method supports digital theater with 5.1 stereo surrounding.Afterwards technology called Dolby Digital Surround EX can support more than 6 sound tracks surrounding effect.

DTS:     Through sub-belt code, linear prediction, compatible quantification,Cool DVD Player can reduce the signal distortion in the guarantee of certain compression proportion. The effect is close to the lossless compression algorithm.

MPEG:    General encoding mode is MPEG1-LAYER1/2,frequently used in digital TV programs,seldom in DVD movies.

SDDS:    A encoding format seldom used in most DVD movies in market.

Stereo surrounding: DVD The audio multi-sound tracks provided by movie is not identical to the user stereo sound system hardware in concept. Traditional 5.1 encoding technologies about multi-sound tracks system: The so-called 5.1 multi-sound-tracks system is left pretage, first center sets, right pretage, left surrounds, right surrounds, and bass sound track. Encoding these 5 sound tracks with corresponding user's 5.1 sound boxes.The technology called Dolby Digital Surround EX is based on the traditional 5.1 encoding technologies multi-sound tracks system. The method is to encode more than 2 surrounding sound tracks to 2 sound tracks in user's sound boxes. When decoding,need to restore sound track surrounding than more than 2 sound tracks.

Present 5.1, 6.1,7.1 surrounding stereo refers to a kind of sound box technology, different at 2, 3, or 4 surrounding sound box. Regardless of the existence of multi-sound tracks provided by DVD,Cool DVD Player can also use user's acoustic system well.
